Vehicle purchaser Craig

Hello! I'm Craig,
vehicle purchaser at webuyurcar

Areas I cover

Bristol, Bath, Taunton and all surrounding areas

Company vehicle - WV20 LYF

A few things about me...

Being an avid cyclist and outdoor enthusiast based in the South-West of England, and with a passion for both leisure cycling and competitive racing, I'll often spend my spare-time and weekends exploring scenic routes and participating in local cycling events.

When not on two wheels, I enjoy spending time with my family and long countryside dog walks in the beautiful countryside near where I live.

What will happen on the day of my appointment?

Our appointments to view cars are quick and easy, most are concluded within the hour. On the day of your appointment Craig will arrive at the allotted time and introduce himself. He will be wearing a webuyurcar lanyard displaying his company ID details. In the unlikely event that Craig has been delayed by traffic or by a previous appointment, then he will contact you to make you aware of when he expects to arrive.

During the appointment Craig will inspect your vehicle taking photographs with his tablet, and he will conduct a short test drive to ensure that there are no major mechanical issues. At this point a final offer price will then be made to you based upon the inspection.

Please have your V5C, identification and bank details ready

If you are happy with the final offer, then Craig will need to check some documentation. Firstly, he will need to see the V5C document which should list you as being the registered keeper, with the address matching your current address. He will also need to see some form of photo ID such as your driving licence or passport. In addition to the V5C, please also have available a further proof of address such as a recent utility bill or council tax bill. For a full list of all documentation that is required please review our FAQ ‘What documentation do I need to have at my appointment?’.

Appointment taking place

Assuming that all documentation is in order Craig will then contact our payments team instructing them to arrange instant payment into your bank account. He will remain with you while the payment is made which, if you have access to online banking will give you the opportunity to check that the payment has been received into your account.

Once payment has been made, Craig will take the keys to the vehicle and our collection team will be notified to arrange collection which will take place within the following few days.

Unless the vehicle has been parked somewhere that you need to grant access to, such as a gated drive, then you will not need to be present when it is collected.

Please ensure that you have removed all personal items from your vehicle before handing over the keys. Remembering to check the glove compartment and all the various storage areas within the vehicle.

Top tips for a hassle-free appointment

Ensure that you have your vehicle's V5C document ready to show the vehicle purchaser. In order for us to purchase the vehicle it should name you as the registered keeper and list your address as your current address

Have all your identification documents ready. This will need to include photo ID such as your driving licence or passport and an additional proof of address document separate to the V5C such as a utility bill or council tax bill

Have your bank details ready. In order to process a payment to your bank account we would need to see a hardcopy of your bank details, such as your bank card or a recent bank statement

Ensure that you have removed all personal belongings from the vehicle. Remember to check all storage areas including the glove compartment, map pockets and door bins. Common items that customers can easily forget about are sunglasses in overhead storage, CDs in the player and mobile charging cables

Remember to remove any parking permits or other passes fixed to your windscreen, as you will need these for your new vehicle

If you have the vehicle's spare key then attach this to the main key fob

If your vehicle will be an obstruction where it is parked whilst waiting to be collected, then please remember to mention this to our vehicle purchaser and they will be happy to park it in a more convenient location

* On rare occasions it may be necessary to change which vehicle purchaser will visit you.
If this happens then the procedure on the day will be unchanged. You can find a full list of all our vehicle purchasers here.
